Volunteer At FaithSpring
FaithSpring is always excited for new opportunities and new volunteers. Email [email protected] for more information on any of these ministry opportunities.
Terry Elementary School (Little Rock School District)
FaithSpring is proud to partner with Terry Elementary School, located at 10800 Mara Lynn Road in West Little Rock. This special ministry provides assistance for students, their families, faculty, and administration. FaithSpring volunteers also help with tutoring each week, and during the year, FaithSpring provides uniforms, clothing, and volunteer support. Would you like to become involved? Contact any FaithSpring staff person.
Reading and language enrichment are crucial before babies can run or even walk. Our literacy team demonstrates how easy it is to share stories and activities and give children a great foundation for future schooling. In addition to our assistance with Terry Elementary, FaithSpring volunteers are involved with literacy in the FaithSpring Delta Mission Project, efforts with Reach Out and Read, and events at the Methodist Children's Home in Little Rock.
The Giving Hope Room
Share with us in this one-of-a-kind "care closet"! FaithSpring members are continually bringing toiletries, travel items, clothing, bedding, and backpacks to share with those in need. Our "neighbors" are connected to us through both the Dorcas House and The Van (local ministers), or by word of mouth in the FaithSpring Family. We receive neighbors regularly to "shop" our closet! Volunteers are always appreciated in sorting and organizing and tax donation forms are available as we stock the shelves together.
Delta Mission Project
Since 2009, FaithSpring has provided for those in need throughout Chicot County, Arkansas' most impoverished county. Whether building wheelchair ramps, painting homes, providing Christmas or school uniforms to children, or helping with food insecurity, FaithSpring is committed to love our neighbors in multiple ways throughout the year. Plan to join us on our next project in the Delta.
FaithSpring is proud to be a part of this inter-denomination effort to assist families in transition. Often times families in homeless transition are separated by gender with shelters. Family Promise keeps spouses, parents and children, all together through church sheltering throughout the year (one week at a time), while also creating an environment for family fellowship and solidarity. FaithSpring volunteer take a meal or fellowship with families sheltered at different churches and listen for ways to meet other needs (clothing).
FaithSpring women regularly minster to the women of The Dorcas House, a home for battered women and children. Whether hosting mani-pedi parties or game night for the kids, we enjoy fellowship with our sisters in need of love and assurance. FaithSpring also hosts our friends at Dorcas House to participate in FaithSpring activities during the year.
